High Traffic Areas

 What are high traffic areas?

A high traffic area is any place on your carpeting where there is a lot of foot traffic. Often these are in hallways and in transition areas between rooms (near doors), as the foot traffic is often much more heavy in these areas. Carpeting in high traffic areas generally needs more attention during the cleaning process. Often the pile is severely damaged in these areas, and the carpet fibers have been crushed and matted into the dirt. It is very important to bring up the fibers and pile in these areas while deeply extracting dirt and other contaminants. Injection of hot steam, green chemicals, agitation, and powerful extraction from Cedar Hill Carpet Cleaning are the key to restoring these areas into like new condition.

Keep High Traffic Areas Looking Great

The protection of high traffic areas is actually controversial between several different carpet cleaning schools. Some schools believe that a good Scotch Guard treatment will help the high traffic areas stay in better condition for longer. Though this thought sounds good, it is not practical for a common home owner to have access to professional Scotch Guard chemicals or have the proper instruction on how to embed them into the carpeting (or tools).

Other instructional courses and schools teach an approach that is much more practical for a homeowner, and one that Cedar Hill Carpet Cleaning adopts for high traffic areas. The homeowner should vacuum their carpets at least 3 times a week, especially the high traffic areas in order to keep dirt and grime from embedding into the carpet, the fibers becoming damaged from dirt, and to keep the pile raised and agitated often. This practical approach combined with regular cleanings every 6 months can keep carpeting looking new and presentable at all times. Scotch Guard is important, but it is not mandatory for a homeowner to use it in order to keep the high traffic areas looking nice.
